What do I need to bring to the notarization appointment?

Please read our Appointment Tips & Requirements page under the FAQs menu to fully prepare you for the appointment. There you will be instructed on what to bring and what specific forms of ID we will need to make copies of. Reading the Tips & Requirements page will ensure a seamless experience, for the client and the notary, and answer any frequently asked questions by clients during the appointments. At Horizon, we want our clients to feel informed and prepared prior to the appointment so we have provided this list for our clients to read over. 


I am a Title/Escrow Officer or Real Estate Agent, how will I send documents?

We accept and send documents electronically by e-mail or mail (including FedEx, UPS and USPS). We can also come pick up the documents from your office if nearby to the listed zip codes. 

What printer is used at Horizon to print the documents & can I provide letter and legal size documents?

Absolutely! We are equipped with multiple all-in-one dual-tray Brother HL-L5200DWT laser jet printers with printer/scanner/copier capabilities.

What are the credentials of the notaries working for Horizon?

We are Notary Signing Agent (NSA) certified by the Loan Signing System to perform real estate loan closings. We are also a commissioned notary by the state of Texas, insured (E&O/$100,000) and bonded. We are certified by the National Notary Association (NNA) through examination and background check verified.

How are the completed documents packaged after the appointment?

We triple-check documents for signatures, initials, dates, notarizations and always ensure whether blanks need completing/filling-in. Regarding residential/commercial loan closings: we are able to package loan closing documents for your convenience and we will be happy to return the package of documents to you by hand-delivery where we picked them up. 

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash or electronic forms of payment such as PayPal, Venmo, and CashApp. We do not accept checks or credit/debit cards.

Can my Horizon notary offer me financial advice during the appointment?

We are not attorneys licensed to practice Law in Texas and may NOT give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. See Texas Administrative Code 87.43 in the Code book. **** 

How do I make my payment to the notary?

For the general public, we accept payments in the form of cash, PayPal and Venmo. For PayPal and Venmo payments, we charge a 3% fee to cover the transaction fees.
